FAQ

Am I a candidate for Dr. Smith’s treatments?

Not all patients are candidates for our treatment program. Dr. Smith will make a determination of treatment acceptance, and give recommendations and results of testing after an initial evaluation.

I go to a chiropractor now, what is different about Dr. Smith’s training?

Dr. Smith has advanced training in functional chiropractic neurology. He is a diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB), a Fellow of the American College of Functional Neurology (FACFN,) and is a Fellow of the American Board of Vestibular Rehabilitation (FABVR.) This means he has taken advanced coursework and passed written and practical examinations specific to clinical neurology. Out of 60,000 chiropractors in the U.S., only about 1200 are chiropractic neurologists. Dr. Smith is actively increasing his knowledge and training regarding functional and sensory-based treatments of the brain and nervous system. He has completed over 600 hours of graduate level education in functional neurology on topics including Traumatic Brain Injury, Balance Disorders, and Movement Disorders, and chronic pain syndromes.

Will my insurance cover the treatments?

Every insurance policy is different. Dr.Smith’s office staff will check on your insurance coverage, and will advise you of coverage before any care is initiated. Patients are also encouraged to call and verify benefits with their insurance companies.

How much is the cost of treatment in your office?

It varies due to individual patient findings. After a consultation, Dr. Smith will recommend specific testing and examinations. He will provide the results of your tests, and the recommended costs of treatment for your condition.
